Kids on bikes getting hit with cars is a problem with how we (don't) regulate cars and traffic Engineers. It's got nothing to do with #eBikes, whether the bike is electric or not.
🙄 love how every emergency room doctor thinks #bikeHelmets are the cure to people on bikes getting hit with cars (I mean yes discouraging people from riding bikes may save some people from crashes, but then they die of sedentary, and more people die in car crashes overall because there's even more cars everywhere thanks in part to doctors who can't see infrastructure.)
@enobacon This kind of thing in so annoying. Helmets make everything safer. Even driving a car. But we don't get this kind of victim blaming when someone wrecks their car.
@phil Also this obsession with regulating victims, everything except physically impede the most dangerous things and behaviors? Good infrastructure design doesn't require a cop to chase people down and force them to perfectly follow the rules, is there somebody in ER rooms that does that thing, who makes the doctors think this would make up for an operating room with no lights and a dirt floor and dull scalpels?
