Is the REST API a mostly viable alternative to the legacy API, or is it really shitty by comparison?

Although with all the fees added, most of what you pay isn’t even usage anymore…
AngryCommieKender, California, I have rainwater collection that amounts to 3200 gallons, and solar panels. Power company pays my water bill.
I have a filter to use the water for drinking or cooking but currently just use it to water plants

what you’re paying here for is continued support of otherwise redundant part of the website, if you’re not willing to upgrade to the new one. The new API is free just like the old one

Hildegarde, Open is not a regulated term. Any company can call themselves open regardless of anything.
ButtCheekOnAStick, Opensubtitles.com API is open and free. They are talking about Opensubtitles.org. People seem to really struggle when it comes to reading that 3rd sentence.
