Extremely good news:
Researchers were able to recycle a fabric blend (cotton and polyester mixed). This has been impossible so far, as any reactions attacking the polyester also destroyed the cotton.

But here is the thing: it runs at room temperature, with off-the-shelf "household" chemicals, is tolerant to all tested common contaminants in recycled fabric and was easily scalabe from micrograms to grams. Also the residue is able to be turned into polyester again.
