Not surprised, just finished watching season 2 and they left it wide open for another.
As much as I love the book I think season 2 was better than the first. Probably because it was written for TV rather than being adapted from a novel, and also the fact it focuses solely on Crowley and Aziraphale who are played fantastically.

@golgaloth @neilhimself Absolutely loved season 1 but S.2 was such a disappointment. It contained all the excitement and "bumpth" of a typical Dr.Who episode.
Let loose the hounds of hell, my eye.
So much potential wasted.

@neilhimself @Monina6969 @golgaloth I was just so very very sure that the ending of s2 was the end of it. Nicely bowed up and all.

Genuinely looking forward to S3, it’s been a rather lovely show. Still don’t know how you can top I’m in love with my car. :)

Just need to time it so I can watch s1 and 2 at the perfect time to start 3. I have come to quite prefer shows short enough that I can rewatch them.

I missed a lot of stuff from the book in Season 1, and S2 was clearly too late to bring all of that back. I loved S1 and still enjoyed S2, but I think it would have been even better if they'd made S1 longer. There was much more that could have been told there.

S2 was definitely more like Dr Who than the apocalyptic stakes of S1, but I guess you can do that only once.
