I tried re-seating the tubes to stop the slight, intermittent, rustling noise.
It got gated and spitty. Just guitar/amp/speaker. Turned off and on again, this came back after a few seconds.
So I changed out the power tube. No longer spitty.

@eyesquash I want to know more…what exactly is going on with how this works? When you say “it rustles” do you mean it is cutting or muffing the notes? :blobcatcoffee:
@ambergrey Nope. It makes all the usual good sounds; it just also made a sound like touching a microphone or radio static.
Even with nothing plugged in.
I haven't noticed it since changing the power tube.
@ambergrey The sound was a bit like a dirty pot, when you turn it, and it makes a scratchy sound, only I wasn't turning anything.
And it was not affected by turning the volume up or down, so I guessed it might have been a dodgy connection in the power tube socket.
But then a different thing happened - no sound but a very distorted tone if I hit the strings hard - that made me think the power tube was dying, so I replaced it.
