I would love hiking / walking shoes that don't get wet, don't get holes in, and last more than a year. I treat mine well, clean them, spray them with the special spray to keep them water tight, and yet..

Does anyone have good recommendations?

I would recommend thick full leather shoes, like this: https://www.equipement-de-survie.fr/produit/habillement/chaussures/millet-bouthan-gtx
I always go with this kind of shoes. Full leather, no fabric. Heavier but warm, perfectly waterproof, very resistant. Ideally from a decently reputed mountain brand (Millet, Scarpa, even some Quechua/Forclaz in Decathlon
Usually last me at least a few years before needing repairs (inside mostly).

You mean shoes, not boots? Lundhags have excellent hiking boots. Mine lasted 15 years.
