A huge chunk of anime subreddits, some nsfw subs, mealprepsunday and 1500isplenty, suggestmeabook, antimeme, copypasta, coolguides, collapse support, and my city's subreddit (I get to know more about my city, since my residence is far away from the main center of activity). And those small communities for singleplayer rpg mobile games I found interesting. I know they're never going back, most people won't even bother with mobile as a platform for games anyway...
It’s not so bad once you get automod set up properly. Just have to mentally filter out all the thirsty simp comments and remove the occasional spam or repost that slips through.
It's always the small niche ones. I tried to make a community on here for my own constituent country and nobody has signed up yet. I cannot find a Minecraft subreddit on here sadly
/r/Strava and a bunch of the cycling ones like /r/Velo and /r/bikepacking, not very optimistic that there's much intersection between existing subsribers and those willing to leave Reddit for Lemmy but I can always live in hope!
I've been missing /r/trailrunning for much the same reason! There is !running at least, but is much less active than /r/running was. When I mentioned Lemmy over there before I gave up on Reddit I was down-voted to oblivion. I was disheartened how little people there seemed to care. Still, given more time I imagine more people will come over.
For me, it's going to be r/SkyGame (the game itself speaks of humanity at its best, coupled with scenescapes and moments that will leave you agape in awe and pain), r/HFY (astounding, original stories and serials about humanity at its best, even through moments of suffering within the wider multiverse), and r/FilipinoHistory (an intelligently-enough discourse space for all things Philippine history, culture, and society as a whole).
