Is your external storage really a hard drive or SSD with no external power supply? They need to get power from somewhere…
The image service often indexes a new drive and creates thumbnails, so that could be something. Or have you been using the same drive over and over again and it always goes like this?
Thanks to everyone who responded. I did solve this from your suggestions of looking at the keyboard settings (Settings/System/Keyboard). Thanks again. I now have emojis enabled (which I never use, but I like having the option just in case).
Thanks for your reply. I’m worried about Unofficial Custom Roms’ stability. Security updates, system updates etc. I saw an Unofficial LOS in XDA forum. But i dont know should i download it. Can you help me about it?
Usuall, you cannot trust it. You should not store an sensitive data on your and you need to assume your device may be compromised. That said, look out for the maintainer of the unofficial ROM. If it is someone who also maintains official LineageOS ROMs, it makes them much more trustworthy.
Thanks for your help. As far as I understood, I should look for unofficial OS from developers of LOS. I am not storing any important data on my device but, you know there is some accounts credentials and private chats. Nothings more. Out of title, do you recommend to use LOS for me? I’m already uninstalled all tracking, logging, bloating, spying softwares and packages via ADB. Then, gave myself root permission and configured Afwall settings. Do I really need LOS?

This would add at least a bit credibility to the ROM, but in the end you don’t know what’s inside. The device maintainer can implement anything into the source code they would want to. Is that a realistic scenario? Probably not, but it should be considered before flashing stuff from unknown sources.
do you recommend to use LOS for me
It depends.
Tbh, only if you really want it. From the info you provided I get that you are mainly interested in privacy.
In case you would flash an unofficial ROM that works without bugs, you would need to avoid GApps, which is required to use the Google Play Services (Maps, Network Location, Push Notifications. This is the core of Googles surveillance framework.
Also keep in mind the monthly security patches are not guaranteed with an unofficial ROM.
If I were you I would try to live with what you have now. If you can, save some money and buy a device that is officially supported by LOS (meaning it is listed here).
If you can afford it and can live with a more minimal system, buy a used Pixel and flash GrapheneOS for maximum privacy/security.
You are welcome to ask some more questions if you like and I will try to answer them tomorrow, but I had a lot of red wine and it is late in my time zone ;)
Thank you so much for your detailed helping reply. Better wait for new phone. At least I’m using ADB and AFwall for privacy and security. Custom ROMs can wait haha. Thank you again my friend. That helped alot.
Do you have Google Play Services on your device? Because those particular applications need Google Play Services in order to send push notifications. Most apps use Google Play Services for notifications, but some such as Element, Tusky, and Thunder do not.
for how long my phone will receive updates or on average how long a phone stops being maintained once it starts being maintained.
Until the maintainer decided not to maintain the device anymore. Could be tomorrow or in two years. It is impossible to say. Devices are maintained by developers for free in their free time.
how long my device has been supported, whether recently or around 2021-2022
around 2023-01-07. This info can be obtained from the official developer thread on XDA-developers
I don’t think your storage can be worn out or at least it can’t be worn out easily.
As far as updates go there is no reason to update right away. There are sometimes security fixes but most of them are not anything you need to stress about
I could be wrong but I’ve never heard of a phones internal storage wearing out. Also eMMC can take a beating and certainly can take 30 formats. If it wore out so quickly downloading apps and using files would be a problem.
There is no need to free up some RAM. Empty RAM is wasted RAM. It is perfectly normal for Android to use it and it is an OS that is very efficient in doing so. If you not experience any unusual behaviour on your device, you should not worry.
What I wanted to say is that Android handles RAM by itself and there is not much you can do about that. This also means that 100 MB free on start up is not necessarily a bad thing.
I see however that being only able to have one app active is annoying and might be a problem.
I am not an Android developer so I don’t want to give you false hopes, but we would need much more information to help you. Asking for the option to free RAM might hint that we are dealing with an xy problem.
So, what device are you running, which version of LineageOS, what apps are you running? Have you already tried to disable the apps battery optimization etc.
Where can I find the last build for xxx device before support was dropped or its LineageOS version was deprecated?
In short, you can’t. We don’t build more than 2 versions usually (exemptions were made when major hurdles prevented a large amount of devices to receive a newer version) and we don’t keep old builds around for a multitude of reasons, the largest being that we won’t keep old, insecure, potentially broken builds around. Additionally, we don’t have the server space (or the space on mirrors) to do so
