Arethusa,

Netflix decided they didn’t care about subscriber preferences and would rather push what they want the subscriber to watch instead. Perhaps it was the moment they removed the star rating system and replaced it with thumbs up and down. The double thumbs up addition made the removal of the star rating system look utterly ridiculous. When “More Like This” recommends the same shows/movies no matter what you just watched, it becomes obvious Netflix just wants to funnel subscribers to raise viewership in certain categories or for certain programs. They don’t care what subscribers want and this is just one example of that.

kamenoko,

Image containing a row of logos that enable users to manage a personal archive of Media using Open Source tools including Qbittorrent, Sonarr, Radarr, Jackett, Jellyfin and OpenVPN/Wireguard

This does a better job, and if I wanted I could add some addons to Sonarr or Jellyfin for new media exploration. I personally use unraid, but all this can be done on a Ubuntu or Arch Linux install with some more expertise and patience.

radau,

Running somewhat similar to you. Jellyseerr is extremely worth it, even has a row where you can select Netflix, Apple TV+, and so on and browse what those services have. Makes a great music player too with FinAmp and lidarr!

ngdev,

this just made me go install the Theme Engine plugin, had no idea dark theme on unRAID GUI existed

Ascend910,

Try a cool programme called popcorn-time :)

Llewellyn,

It’s still alive?

UnknownQuantity,

Am I wrong or did they not used to recommend movies you’ve already watched 8 or so years ago?

Oh that’s nothing. Hulu recommends shows I watched last month.

SobelOperator,

Also, trailers with English subtitles but not within the episodes.

Prater,

There is another way. One with much more content…

finkrat,

Looking at you too, Xbox

Switorik,

I believe the movies/shows use every tag available to be shown in more categories. Even if it’s not really related to the tag.

I want companies to start enforcing correct tagging as it’s seeping into other media as well.

Telodzrum,

Bruh, Netflix does the indexing for its library. This isn’t Steam.

Switorik,

I imagined each show states what they want their tags to be and Netflix just hosts them. I’m not entirely sure how it works but it’s annoying none the less.

And stop getting my fucking hopes up when I search for a movie and the titles autofills only to show me you don’t have it.

ImplyingImplications,

It’s because they dont actually have a large catalog anymore and they hide that fact with their terrible UI instead of just showing a list.

Sacha,

They also cancel just about all their good series while keeping the shit ones. :')

radau,

Inside Job getting cancelled still hurts
