Hi all, as with most of you, I'm an immigrant from Reddit. I never used to go on to the NZ or regional subreddits because frankly, I felt very unwelcome and those places were extremely negative....
Hi all, we have a new mod joining the team....
I had a bit of fun walking around taking photos of things that looked interesting in the frost. I've put the album up on Pixelfed....
This is a video I'd been wanting to make for a long time, the tides were right for me to paddle up the inlet at low tide, and walk around it at high tide before it got dark. The height difference is a few metres between low and high, the distance is over a kilometer.
This is from a few months ago but really interesting work from some university students that trained a popular machine learning model on data from iNaturalist.nz. The app is pretty good at identifying endemic species. The entire model is installed with the app which means that it works offline.
This is a cool website for tracking the blackout as it happens.
My wife was incredulous watching this.
I believe that bandwagon politics has ruined any chance of progress here in New Zealand....
Before all the normies heard of reddit, before the mods became ultra special etc etc etc. Feels the same again man! *Strive to teach and help each other fellow Kiwis who all live on these islands we call home. Peace
