In places like Korea, multiple broadcasters show the same sporting events (with their own commentators etc). I wonder what the difference in broadcasting rights structure is between somewhere like that, compared to somewhere like NZ where one broadcaster takes the outright rights for an event

Good move - 100% this has to have been one of the major drivers of a growing lack of interest in sport with our kids. The kids then lose their role models, or look to different role models and the snowball goes on from there. A good move - and I don’t even like sport myself as a rule 😂😂

I’m so happy this has happened. It will only benefit cricket in NZ. Cricket interest and attendance at the kids level has been steadily dropping, and while there are many reasons for this, I strong suspect locking the games behind a pay wall is a big contributor.
