Buffalox,

Why can’t they get those corrupt judges on taxes?
USA is not a country of law anymore, it’s become a country of corruption, created for and by republicans.

Wealth is a guaranteed get out of jail card.

Buffalox,

Yes, I should probably have written created by Republicans for the 1%. The fact that you can pay your way out of legal trouble, is a testament to how corrupt the system has become.

gravitas_deficiency,

I mean, if that’s a real question:

Probably because Thomas (and let’s be honest: Thomas would be the obvious test case for this) would simply get his buddies on the Tribunal of Six to issue a statement saying that the Supreme Court is the only court which may discipline its justices, which would more or less legally close the matter.

I am unfortunately becoming more and more convinced that we aren’t getting out of this clusterfuck before political assassination starts getting popular again.

Buffalox,

Self regulation is a sure model for failure. In this case ending up totally corrupt.
I would mean congress is above supreme court. Supreme court can’t make law, only interpret existing law, and the question is how they could legitimately interpret that they are the only court that can discipline themselves.
I bet there is existing precedence on mostly everything regarding tax law, I don’t see how supreme court should be exempt from that.
