@CoolFrog rebuilding Barbur as a 5-lane stroad with trains in the center, was a plan for the 1990s at best. The vast majority of the cost was all about rebuilding too many car lanes, right next to a 6-lane freeway. We can't make it harder to drive* in a way that people will benefit, if we're wasting all of that time, money, and concrete on a car-centric design. (*drivers and traffic engineers make driving harder every day but what other options do people have? trains every 30min no lol no.)
The uphill conditions would have had me riding on the sidewalk if not for the e-bike. #WorkZoneWTF#ODOTGTFOpdx#BarburBlvd All we need is for this to be a bus-only lane and everything would be much calmer and simpler. Five years ago, right now, whenever we're ready to admit that more lanes for cars doesn't fix traffic. #InducedDemand
