YouTube tests disabling videos for people using ad blockers

Midroll ads did it for me. I’m just not willing to have them interrupt. And I’m not willing to let multiple minutes of ads play before every single video. Google forgets that, while YouTube may be the biggest platform, but it’s not the only one.

Good old yt-dl(p) to download then watch them locally. Or use Invidious :)

You would think right after the Twitter and Reddit fiascos that maybe YT admin could use their brains. Or not, whatever they prefer.

We won't pay, and we won't watch ads. It really is that simple.

I only used reddit and youtube for my procrastination. Since dropping reddit I've picked up books and learning shit on YouTube. If YouTube kicks me out. I'll just ha e to go to the library to learn shit

For some reason I thought it was $3/mo and I finally went to bite the bullet because I felt like the benefits outweighed the cost at that price point.. then I saw it was actually $12/mo!? I get that it includes music, offline, etc., but all I want it for is the ads :/

Maybe if their ads weren’t so intrusive and repetitive, fewer people would use ad blockers.
