I'm so glad I can just pirate everything I want

In my case is a cost one for sure, I just cant afford to pay for every single streaming platform, I pay for spotify no problem, all my music is in there.

Funny thing is, this is exactly what reddit wants. When it's time to show the traffic after API shutdown they'll show the traffic of all the users that are protesting, and guess what, it'll be higher than before the API shutdown

OC A UI idea on how to merge boosting with up/downvote buttons into one unified voting system in a visual way

Artemis might use a swipe gesture to visually hint at the relation between upvoting and boosting, as shown in the main animation. Here's a static app mockup with both swipe levels displayed. I'd also imagine that there should be a setting that auto-upvotes posts when boosting.

Really cool design, would it be snappy? I mean if you slide a bit it snaps to an upvote, so it's easier to choose the action you want to perform.

Congrats! Let us know what do you think about the phone once you get it!

I don't think we will be able to believe anything we see online. These are fake videos taken from movies, once AI is able to create realistic videos this problem will get much worse.

I for sure will be deleting my account soon. Twitter became filled with spam recently, nothing interesting left to do there.

You're right.

For me it's way more inconvenient to pirate music than to pay for Spotify, which is not the case with TV shows or movies that are scattered around many streaming services, this is very expensive.
Plus is way harder to find the music from smaller artists.

Artemis private beta rollouts have begun!

Hi there, the Artemis private beta rollout has just started! @hariette will be emailing 50 signup sheet users, while @lilkev will be adding 50 users from Artemis Discord. The order will be based on the submissions to the private beta signup form, as well as general activity within the Artemis community....

It's sad, but it seems to me you adapted to the fediverse, I see you on my frontpage every time I check it, great content, good job!

If this happens I will dedicate myself to bypassing this. Whatever it takes. I will not be watching ads on YouTube

Reddit repost bots are spam, and that needs to be stopped.

Ok, imagine this, you are on reddit (say, a slow hobby focused subreddit), everybody there is nice and knowledgeable, and one day, the mods there announced that since there is not enough "content" on the sub, they are going to use a bot to repost content from 9gag in order to "bolster engagement" and "grow the community"....

lixus98,
lixus98 avatar

This is why I stopped development of BotIt, if people don't want it then I won't continue making it

lixus98,
lixus98 avatar

I pretty much lost motivation when I saw 3 posts a day saying they hated bots /s.
But honestly, at this point the bot is usable, if someone needs more functionality they can fork it if they want.

lixus98,

Looks amazing so far! I will definitely use it

I wonder if other official subreddits will stop being official

lixus98,

These people invested so much time and effort into their communities, I understand why they are doing all this to keep them

OC Reddit's in-jokes and overall sense of "humor" are lame and I don't want to see them migrate to Kbin.

I like the overall lack of in-jokes I've encountered here so far, and I want things to stay that way. This might be an unrealistic thing to hope for, but I like good, pure, discussion, as boring as that may be for some people.

lixus98,
lixus98 avatar

Makes you wonder what does kbin use to sort comments

lixus98,
lixus98 avatar

That's a great way to filter people in some way. I wonder for how long this will last. I'm not saying it can't be permanent but I'm sure at some point it will attract awful people

YSK: This service needs more content creators, and you can invite them.

Why YSK: We have a significant number of users now, and yet the amount of content to scroll through is still fairly small. This is because not all users are the same, and while the majority prefer to lurk, and a much smaller minority prefer to comment, the percentage that really likes making posts, memes, art, rants, videos etc...

It's interesting to see people talking about bots flooding some communities with content and others saying there's not enough.
I created a bot, not to bring posts and comments from reddit but to use reddit as content curator, to bring links that were engaging there on to here.
However some people think theres a difference between users making a post with just a link to a news article or a bot doing it.
I think there's a use for bots, when the content they bring is external to both reddit and lemmy, and discussion around it is organic.

I stopped the bot, people don't seem to like automated content, so I stopped development as well. Sorry
