I have a merry handful of sensory issues.

First, my most prominent #adhd symptom is a lack of sensory filters. Especially auditory. If I'm not in hyperfocus, every sensation crowds into the conscious part of my brain. I can barely tune out anything.

I also have misophonia, and since 2022 I have tinnitus and with that came a heightened sensitivity in the high frequency range.

It's so hard to convey to people that sounds can be painful even if they're not very loud.

    @devxvda I haven't heard that so far, unless it's a faulty charger.

    But the noise of my external hard drive can totally drive me up the wall. And I guess I will stick to either laptops with SSDs or fanless computers in the future because that background hum of a PC fan annoys me so much.
