Oof, the Mountain Pass opening encounter is rough...I expected to be facing level 5 enemies at most when moving through the next area at level 4. Instead a couple of strong level 6 enemies were present in an encounter which made it complex (not saying why).
After work, I'm going back to the Goblin Camp and clear it out for more experience. If that doesn't give me enough, there's a few more places to nab some experience.
@WanderingInDigitalWorlds my party was level 6 going to that mountain pass and it was quite easy with level 3 spells.
We went in every area above ground and under ground.
We backed off before going to Moonrise from the Underdark.
The Underdark would get you to level 6 I believe, and it should be easier than this 1st encounter in the mountain.
Also, this first encounter is tough!and you can avoid it, but the next big one is EASY and brings a lot of XP for the difficulty.
@dolanor I'll keep this advice in mind. I think I could beat that Mountain Encounter at level 5, it's a self imposed challenge.
I've got enough Grease Jars and Fire Spells to create a sizable conflagration...I just want a bit more HP and Class Skills to fall back on for mopping up those nasty corpses.
Plus Gale and Karlach's quests continue at Last Light Inn...I want to get Gale and the most interesting Barbarian advanced on that front.
@WanderingInDigitalWorlds also a water pitcher + electricity spells is pretty violent.
x2 damages is nothing to scoff at especially when enemies have strong resistances
@dolanor I actually ended up trouncing that encounter with a cast of Call Lighting, Cloud of Daggers...Shadowheart buffed with Spiritual Guardian in melee cleaned up the rest.
