Flies are so stupid. If you land on something and get a violent protest, you would think not to land there again. But oh no no no. Not flies.

Brynify,
@Brynify@dragonscave.space avatar

brought to you by an annoyed Bri who is being harassed by one such fly.

Brynify,
@Brynify@dragonscave.space avatar

I'm not actually really annoyed. I'm just like damn fly. You're a dumb ass.

Brynify,
@Brynify@dragonscave.space avatar

And yet, they're one of the most evasive fucking species on the planet. They're impossible to kill.

Brynify,
@Brynify@dragonscave.space avatar

Ok. Now, I'm annoyed. This fly will not leave me alone and evades any attempts to stop it. Rar!

@miki@dragonscave.space avatar

@Brynify Suggestion for future you, get yourself some window nets. I couldn’t imagine living without them.

Brynify,
@Brynify@dragonscave.space avatar

@miki Never heard of that before.

miki,
@miki@dragonscave.space avatar

@Brynify Wait, you’ve never seen a window covered by a net? I don’t know how those things are called in English, but you probably get the idea. They go on the outside, so that when the window is open, air can get through but insects can’t.

BrailleScreen,

@miki @Brynify This is refered to as a screen

jscholes,

@miki @Brynify In British English, the word "net" in relation to a window makes me think of a super thin, semi-transparent curtain. "Screen" I think is common in American English to describe what you're talking about, but we do also just say things like "that mosquito net needs to be replaced" around here.

Brynify,
@Brynify@dragonscave.space avatar

@miki Oh! A screen!

ZBennoui,

@miki @Brynify Yeah it's a screen. We have that at our place.

jscholes,
@jscholes@dragonscave.space avatar

@miki @Brynify Living somewhere with mosquitos, we have screens on all of our windows. If I ever move to a place without mosquitos, I will be investing in exactly the same thing regardless. Add a spray for when they do get in, and flying insects is now a solved problem.

miki,
@miki@dragonscave.space avatar

@jscholes @Brynify Exactly. We do have mosquitos (although not the deadly variety), but considering how hard it is for a blind person to deal with even something as harmless as a fly, yeah nope. Screens it is. There are also wasps and bees, which we have plenty of, and those can be quite dangerous, even if you think you aren’t allergic.

@Brynify
You remind me of an episode of Breaking Bad where a fly is the plot of the whole episode.

@mush42 @Brynify When I saw this post yesterday, it reminded me of an epic monologue from a bollywood film about a mosquito. Substitute flies for that and you'd be all set.
