China's President Xi Jinping sent President Biden profound condolences over the passing of Henry Kissinger on behalf of the Chinese government and people.
"Kissinger was a world-famous strategist, as well as an old friend and a good friend of the Chinese people," Xi declared, "the former US secretary of state will always be remembered and missed by the Chinese people."
"Half a century ago, with an outstanding strategic vision, Kissinger made historic contributions to the normalization of China-U.S. relations, which not only benefited the two countries, but also changed the world," he continued.
"Kissinger had made it his lifelong pursuit to promote the development of China-U.S. relations"-
"Beijing is ready to work with Washington to carry forward the cause of friendship between the two peoples and promote the sound and steady development of bilateral ties, in order to benefit the two peoples and make due contributions to world peace and development."
Xi must be very thankful to Kissinger for all that he has done for the Chinese bourgeoisie, negotiating Mao's alignment with the United States in 1971. Kissinger is, as a matter of historical happenstance, pivotal to bringing about the heights reached by Chinese capitalism today and its global system of exports established in partnership with the U.S.
