I need to know the history behind why America decided to go with a different form of measurement compared to the rest of the world. What was the reason?

@mikey pretty sure it was the french inventing metric and everyone else deciding to adopt it over time, and the US just said nah because we were building all our railroads and shit.

And then as time went on we kept doing it as a meme. 😒
