@TheNeedling Kenmore's the one that was Prohibition Party Town, the one that for a while was all "we used to be interesting, thank god that's over."

Bothell, by contrast, is the one that was never interesting.

@TheNeedling They just knocked down what I think was the last of the old speakeasy buildings, too! I'm kinda mad!

It was a late one (built in 1931 for 'country dining' but we all know that meant 'country drinking' which was, like, Kenmore's whole shtick other than the sawmill) and, okay, maybe was looking like it was falling over on its own. BUT STILL

A 2021 Google Maps streetview picture of the City Inn, originally built in 1931 as one of the very, very many Kenmore speakeasys. A low, brown building with two separated front doors and no road-facing windows, it is essentially the stereotype of a dive bar, as well as being the reality. It was torn down in January of 2024.
