There's been a lot of discussion about how the russian population looks at the war. Surely they oppose it, right? Nobody with an IQ over room temperature would ever want war? Wrong. The russians want war. Why? Because they have been told for years that the evil west is trying to destroy them. Of course they believe it. Propaganda can be extremely effective. The russians would support the war even if they had a choice. The 'will of the public' isn't supressed. It's controlled.
