@latenite Hi Chris, I love CC's "Batch export from active timeline" feature and use it all the time for roundtripping with AE BUT could we please omit this warning dialog every time?

@latenite fantastic, thank you!

@stooovie @latenite Great suggestion. Have you tried Ximport AE for even smoother roundtripping to AE? It’s really great. I wrote a short case study over on fcp.cafe recently. https://fcp.cafe/case-studies/blood-and-gold-vfx/

@samplue @latenite I haven't! Thanks!

@stooovie @samplue @latenite Ximport AE was going to be my suggestion. 🤩

@wplate @samplue @latenite exporting entire timelines is almost never what I need though...

@wplate @samplue @latenite exporting entire timelines is almost never what I need though... I understand I can make CCs for each clip but that's just adding extra work for myself while CommandPost's feature is almost perfect for my needs

@stooovie @samplue @latenite I always liked not making new assets from FCP for AE to use and letting AE use the same exact files FCP is using.

@wplate @samplue @latenite good ol' Reference QTs, right? :)

@wplate @stooovie @samplue Back in 2016, I played around with the ability to Copy in FCPX and Paste in AE - it was pretty darn cool. Complicated to do, so never finished it, but one day I’ll get back to it.

https://github.com/CommandPost/CommandPost/issues/47

Interesting, I noted in that repo that Motion’s pasteboard is just a ozxmlscene, so it would actually be quite easy to make a copy in FCPX, paste in Motion feature:

@latenite @samplue that would make my life SO much easier... I realize I'm a minority in my FCPX/AE workflow but I don't like Motion and Premiere, so...

@stooovie What frame rate do you work with? I think the original code I made worked fine in 25fps.

stooovie,
@stooovie@mas.to avatar

@latenite almost always 25, yeah

@latenite also a "project name" would be super helpful here, I tend to work on series and I'd love to have the episode number (=project/timeline name) prepended to the exported filename
