#GreatAlbums1980s - #Scorpions – Blackout (1982). Germany's Scorpions would soon hit metal paydirt with the slightly slicker Love at First Sting. Blackout, though, strikes an ideal balance between accessible hard rock ("No One Like You," "Can't Live Without You") and heavy metal fury ("Blackout," "Dynamite"). One of the few 80s metal bands able to conquer radio and the arena circuit without primping up their hair, Scorpions were a bastion of pure yet accessible heaviness.
