My point is, my mental independence was ruthlessly crushed by my strict abusive father. I wasn't allowed to think until very late (at age 19). In spite of which, I managed to cross a few significant milestones (in tech) on my own. I don't really know if I'm smart (am 20 now). Hence the ambiguity
