The old asian lady in my neighborhood was haranguing me about why I’m wasting money paying rent living in San Francisco when I can own a home in a suburb 3 hours away for less. I told her if I have to live in a suburb I’d rather honestly live in any other city in Asia. They are not for me. (If you love suburbs, wonderful. Just know that they are a very distinctly American experience that requires a huge amount of cultural and mindset and lifestyle shift I am personally not willing to do.)
