@aegir I've been thinking of baking a cake, or chocolate chip cookies today, because I also had a bonkers work thing and not much sleep cuz of my son's thing yesterday.
I'm worried I'm so tired I'll fuck it up tho. lol Would not be the first time.
@MsHearthWitch Yeah, your son’s thing is terrible, have they managed to resolve any of it now?
The hardest thing about this was the icing,I was quite surprised when I got to the end, “oh, I’m done!” (It’s slightly underbaked and that helps - no eggs!)
@aegir Not really, ish? The police weren't much help. Getting a hold of the bank also wasn't as much help as I'd hoped. Kept saying "just go to a branch to get a new card" and it's like "Teleportation isn't a thing so that's not happening."
But we did get the card locked down, new SIM for a phone ordered, and new card otw which we will then have to FedEx overnight to them or something.
Roommate fronted them some $$ for food and I did an international transfer to roommate to pay them back.
@aegir I wanna make a chiffon cake, I finally got some meyer lemons. But I think I'm going to wait until Monday and then bring it into work on Tuesday.
Might bake choco chip cookies later today.

@MsHearthWitch What a pita though. It’s like it’s the first time this ever happened from the way the bank/etc are reacting. It scares me how much relies on the phone.
@aegir Yeah it scares me too. Definitely something I'm going to put more thought into next time I travel.
At least dealing with it at home would be a pain but not as much of a hassle as in another country.
I read on reddit someone at a different bank the person was so helpful and the bank overnighted a card to them abroad. So we might have just gotten a very apathetic CSR.
