I've started to learn to enjoy programming again and want to make a new project (essentially I want to take the parts of MusicBee I miss going to other music players).

My only thing is... this project I want to make, I'm not sure if I should make it in Python, which is the one I have most experience with, or another programming language. I have decent experience with PyQt at this point.

For something like a music library organiser (which is basically just a glorified database management system for music), performance is key, and Quod Libet can be quite sluggish, so I'm reluctant to choose Python for that reason... but I don't know what language to go to from Python. Rust, maybe? rust-cxx is a thing, so...
