Are people FINALLY realizing that hybe is trying to ruin kpop? :jihoexcite:

@ShaMyouiMo what did they do :blobcat_oh_no:

@dalawa

  1. SHUTTING DOWN VLIVE :atokkiwaah:

  2. Trying to buy SM and make a legal loophole where they couldn't refuse(YG too I think but I could be wrong)

  3. Try to take the kpop sound away from kpop as much as possible for global validation(most of their groups never do the traditional "kpop" sound and because of the high popularity now the whole industry wants to do the same)

  4. Make ILLIT(a blatant copy of newjeans, they want that easy bag)

  5. No vocal training

@dalawa the last one is why everyone's saying they're ruining kpop because le sserafim's coachella performance was very underwhelming vocal-wise and ppl are mad

W the first two on the list, they were basically trying to gain as much power as possible and since they realized they couldn't they're trying to make as many groups as possible with popular sounds(in the west) to be the "best" or "most successful" company or whatever, just plain power hungry :aNingSmh:

@ShaMyouiMo never forget vlive :angrycry: :angrycry: :angrycry:

my taste is kpop thats not kpop so i cant speak to that.....

but yes the SM thing was so blatant :JihyoYikes:

NewJeans is the only good thing about hybe :NayeonCry:

@dalawa oh yeah I like the non kpop part of kpop too just not when every group is doing the same trend cuz then we get no new sounds until it dies down :isasadge:

@ShaMyouiMo @dalawa FOR REALLL OHMYGOSH

I would've forgiven illit if it was from a nugu/different company. but then I found out it's from hybe and just 😬
It's such a shame because magnetic is legit a pretty cutesy and boppy song...

@dalawa@citrus.farm avatar

@WandaLee58 @ShaMyouiMo also sorry if i come across as hostile. i'm just a) not too invested in kpop as an entity b) jaded because i've felt similar things about pretty much every big kpop company, from SM to YG (i dont really listen to JYP, yet). it's valid to feel like everything sounds the same. maybe it just means it's a good time to branch out and listen to other things!

WandaLee58,
@WandaLee58@outerheaven.club avatar

@dalawa @ShaMyouiMo No, it literally is an ongoing trend. This is beyond just music and genres and stuff - Hybe seems to be really plotting something in their business, plus?? We cant deny that they're using BTS for easy money now with their expensive merch! Some people have made comments about that

WandaLee58,
@WandaLee58@outerheaven.club avatar

@dalawa @ShaMyouiMo I love groups and music and everything else - but like everything else going on in industries, whether it'd be movies, apps or games... they're businesses. They're corporations. They may have good products but not all have good intentions about it, and I refuse to merely just support the companies as well just because I like select faves

WandaLee58,
@WandaLee58@outerheaven.club avatar

@ShaMyouiMo @dalawa Hybe can literally just make any group sing anything, even if it completely detracts from their main concept - and no matter how diverse in sound or samey-generic it is, loyal HYBE fans will indeed indulge and hype it on social media, because HYBE. bts enhypen txt le sserafim newjeans.

And what ShaMyouiMo might be suggesting is that: popularity of simple-sounding musics might partly harm kpop music-wise, because if it's trendy, it makes cash. And companies will lean to what makes cash and what doesn't, and thus, lack of sound diversity, because cool and unique kpop music don't get as much clout/popularity and profit as newjeans-sounding music.

WandaLee58,
@WandaLee58@outerheaven.club avatar

@ShaMyouiMo @dalawa And yes, I am very much aware of TWICE, TXT and Red Velvet's existence where they do change concepts, but there is a very stark difference for having multiple concepts or changing it due to the members maturing or having different interests... or just changing it for easy popularity and being a TikTok trend or dance challenge.

@ShaMyouiMo @dalawa I'm not mad either 😄 but I just wanted to clear things up a bit. Businesses and corporations in general have a weird way of thinking, and it's not always so transparent or easy to understand. It takes a lot of video essays from fellow fans who think the same, critical/analytical?? thinking and research. And still, fans will defend ruthlessly about them.

And yes I have been branching out for years now too, if you are still curious about it. My life revolves around different subgenres of metal too and a bit of stuff from female rappers besides k-pop

@WandaLee58 @dalawa so true everything u said :JennieHypeClap:

so basically isa we're just bitter that big company that appeared out of nowhere suddenly started making groups that outshined ours :hyokek:
