Just finished Judge Dee’s Mystery. So uneven. Largely an episodic mystery-of-the week type thing. The story arc is somewhat undeveloped. It’s generally watchable, though. Visually lush. Somewhat romantic at times. Fight scenes are often cartoonish and unnecessary.

@cs I agree. And I am a huge fan of the ML. Apparently the usual fantastical beasts and ghosts in Judge Dee stories were left out to pivot Dee as a Chinese Sherlock Holmes. Imho that’s unfortunate. Prefer the older series & films.
