> What cryptsetup-nuke-password

> The software cryptsetup-nuke password is a software developed by Offensive Security and publish under GPLv3 licence. This software provides additional security at cryptsetup.
It allows to define an additional password which can also be typed in the cryptsetup password prompt, but allows to destroy the decryption key of the cryptsetup volumes in order to prevent its unlocking.

@kaia does it just destroy the header? you could still have an offsight header backup :thinking_cirno:

and get the data later (tm) if possible

@grillchen I have not investigated. I don't really need it

@kaia btw u can also just safe the key on a yubikey/nitrokey/solokey/onekey

@kaia@brotka.st avatar

@grillchen I have not understood how the Yubikey works yet. I set it up for one 2FA, but nothing more

@kaia could > should

while it sounds like good opsec, the biggest error is human behaviour and people giving others their data voluntarily (phishing and co)

so it might be overkill. but opsec can be fun. little bit like LARPing
