For my friends that have e-readers, what size is ideal? Do any of you own a Boox?

Trying to decide between a “phone” form factor (6.3" x 3.1"/6 oz) and a tablet (6.1" x 5.4"/7 oz). The former can fit in a pocket. Any advice?

@samerfarha I loved my iPad for just about everything; it was good for reading ebooks. I really can’t imagine trying to read a book on this iPhone. After the iPad, everything on this feels tiny. I need to fix the ‘Pad. Laura has a Kindle paper white or some such. Likes it a lot.

@stevenray I do use my iPad for Libby, but it’s super heavy (I have a 13” Pro from 2018). I want something smaller and lighter. The paperwhite seems to be a good size. The Boox Page is slightly wider than the paperwhite but about the same weight.

@samerfarha I haven’t heard of the Boox and will take a look. I read a lot but I have a strong pref (almost an addiction) for physical books.

@stevenray I am in love with physical cookbooks (which, wierdly, would be better electronic for searching and such). Everything else, I’m going ebook/audio book for. Not enough space to collect books!

@samerfarha I get it. Laura mostly does physical cookbooks plus the New York Times cooking section / site. Plus Milk Street & America’s Test Kitchen monthlies.

@samerfarha @stevenray for electronic searching cookbooks check out https://www.eatyourbooks.com/

I have a Kobo Libra 2 eReader. It is a good size for my smallish hands, but I could probably go with a slightly larger screen since I tend to read in bed with my glasses off and just increase the font, leading to a lot of page turns.

@nikkid @samerfarha eatyourbooks looks fabulous.

@stevenray @samerfarha between that and the Paprika app, I now have a tablet mounted to the fridge (courtesy of my spouse) for convenience.

@nikkid @samerfarha I've been passing all of this onto the cook in the family and look forward to consuming, I mean observing the results 😀😀😀
