atomicpoet, Except for the Nintendo Switch, I don’t collect games for modern consoles anymore. The reason is that, for video games, they represent a moment in time for me.
I have a SEGA Saturn because I have vivid memories of going to Toys R’ Us when I was 14-years-old, being completely amazed by the Saturn kiosk, and wishing to some day have a Saturn.
When I was 30-years-old, I finally got that privilege. And when I finally had it, I build new memories playing Street Fighter Alpha in my basement with a friend on an old CRT.
Fast forward to now. I don’t aspire to a Xbox Series S or PS5. In fact, they’re big downgrades compared to what I have now.
