The most mildly amusing thing to me about being new on fedi and getting used to things is number discrepancies for viewing on remote instances. Multiple times I've seen someone have a handful of followers and be like "ah they just like me" and then actually bother to check remote instance and find out it's actually several hundred+, most of the time going into quad digits.
And being made to realize it's just a number like anything else and they're still just a person like everyone else, which is kinda cool honestly. It's happened to me at least like 7 times in the couple months I've been around :strawb_giggle:
