Halal just means "forbidden" in Arabic. Muslims don't eat or drink some things due to religious reasons. For religious reasons I had to get someone to sign off on my getting married. Some people adhere to certain requirements due to their beliefs. Boomers lose their minds over Muslim beliefs (they do not care about mine.)
