very rarely i can still find old sierra titles at the thrift store. this is the first time i’ve found a sierra flight sim in the wild: the highly respected Red Baron 3D (3dfx/Glide re-release of RB II) 😍

til Red Baron 3D even came with a built-in livery painting program to turn your fokker into a mean machine

no one has ever mentioned that Red Baron 3D has a completely different narrative history of the great war than Red Baron 1. it is surprisingly well written - far better than the in-depth manual of the first game. i ended up reading it through my lunch break.

had no idea franz ferdinand’s assassin confronted and murdered him in a dead end alley - just because the driver made one wrong turn.

@vga256 don't know that one, but the original red baron, for dos, was great!

@dirkdierickx agreed! this is in many ways the same game. they just upgraded everything to high res/win95 for RB II, and RB 3D is the same game re-released with 3dfx support :)

Speaking of old games...

Man, zoomers will never relate to buying a game based on incredible painted box art, only to boot it up and see five pixels moving on the screen. XD

@RL_Dane @vga256 @amin @ivan but those 5 pixels are beautiful aren't they?
