Apparently #Perseverance had another go at rock Bunsen Peak, and this time it succeeded in getting a core. The proof is in the images.
For a 100% successful sample acquisition, the sample has to be measured and the tube capped & sealed before being stashed along with the other samples inside the rover's belly.
I also couldn't see a location in Bunsen Peak where Perseverance would have made that old coring operation. Did I miss something or was that an old sample stuck in the drill that wasn't actually from Bunsen Peak?

I'm not sure what's really going on here. That sample from Sol 371 ended up sealed in a tube, or so we thought (img 1).
Maybe the recent image with the broken core in the drill was from back then and got downlinked with data falsely showing a recent date? Comparison of images from Sol 371 and Sol 1086 appear to show an identical drill and broken core (animated img 2).
The tube used for this last sample appears to be 174 (animated img3, before/after Sols 1086-1088)
