Played a huge role in my past also! Back in the 1970's, when middle class families piled into station wagons and vacationed by driving around the lower 48, Waffle House was the stop we always looked forward to.
Then in my younger alcohol fueled years, Waffle House was the after party when the clubs closed at 2am. 😂😂😂
Smash if possible! You're hungry! It's a Southern tradition, as much about the Waffle House scene and getting something to eat, not wanting to go home yet, as it is about the food.
@osfast@DemocracySpot@WeShall It’s not bad food, but it’s not fancy. Eggs, bacon, hash browns made dozens of ways (scattered, smothered, covered, etc. this adds cheese, gravy, onions, tomatoes, etc.) There’s a grill as well as a griddle, so burgers, pork chops, steaks. And there’s a phalanx of waffle irons hot and ready to go, with batter add-ins like berries or pecans or chocolate chips. The folks who work there are wonderful as well.
