I started this project adapting Dungeons and Dragons rules to make it easier for newcomers to enjoy, and the desire to attach a theme led to this; my (so-far) unnamed Matrix RPG.
I’m finding that I really like having failure mechanics in my games. For those unfamiliar with the concept, the idea is that players gain a token or dice when they fail a roll they can ‘cash in’ later for a bonus on rolls when they really need it. DM Scotty’s Luck Dice rules and the rules of EZD6 are the best examples of...
I might consider this complete! I forgot the nurglings, but maybe that’s what the other flowers are! Budding nurglings!...
I’ve been getting back into printing and painting D&D miniatures lately I’m not very good yet, but I felt like sharing some of the things I’ve learned....
Happy Monday, tabletoppers!...
I’m running a homebrew 5e campaign and one of my players had said something that had us all cracking up, in the middle of a pretty serious and semi-dark session they dropped the line, “There’s more than one way to pickle a baby.”...
I’ve noticed a trend (among TT games and other product categories), of established companies using Kickstarter. Mostly I think they use it as a hype machine/pre-order system, but that doesn’t quite feel like the ethos behind Kickstarter. Full disclosure, I have backed some of these myself!...
Diaominos...
I’ve been toying with giving Age of Sigmar another shot and having been reading through a load of stuff it really feels like AoS is ever so slowly going back to the old WHFB rules, just with round bases and still having silly individual named rules instead of general rule names like Killing Blow etc....
I’m looking to start a text based campaign with a couple of friends. But most of the systems we play tend to be more tactical combat oriented (Pathfinder, Lancer, etc) and it feels like it’d be really awkward to switch over to a VTT every time a fight breaks out. Are there any systems that would be easy-ish to learn and good...
Living with disability it would be fun to join a group for a classic style pnp D&D over zoom or something. Anyone have a group looking for an additional player?
So the only game ive played that isnt chess or monopoly, is dnd and i like it the thing is my family members dont want to play becasue its too complex and im trash with storys and planning....
BLUF: Any recommendations for session zero, game systems to run, and co-dming with teens?...
I’m new to DM’ing, and new to Foundry VTT, and this blog post of Action Jay’s work on how he’s running the Curse of Strahd was a great resource to modules, tools, and approaches to improve my own gameplay.
I’m down for a voice chat on Discord while we play!...
Despite initially reading that as “pretty” and getting confused… It sounds like fun.
I’m looking for games which are for exactly 2 or 3 players. My wife, daughter and I played Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries yesterday, and it was so cool that the game was truly balanced around that exact number of players. Some combination of 2 or 3 tends to be who sits down at our table, and games that are best for 4 or 5...
Hi everyone!...
I appreciate that the sub is more for physical tabletop gaming, but I wondered if posts about the game Tabletop Simulator are welcome?...
Hello everyone! Calzone here, with a new section for !tabletop I’m calling “Last Week in Tabletop” where I will be going over the news of the past week. If you don’t see something mentioned that you really think aught to be, please add a reply with a short description and a link to where you found it. Without further...

I just wanna know what ongoing games you all are playing! If it's ongoing catan meet ups, TTRPGS, or what not! What are you excited for?...
So I've started a project. My roughly bigfoot inspired custodes. I'm calling them apestodes. Far from perfect but I'm happy with them just don't know how to base them.
