Red_October,

I do. While I don’t end up using headphones terribly often, I still prefer wired ones when I do. I would lose bluetooth earbuds in a heartbeat, and it wouldn’t be worth the expense to replace them.

MIDItheKID,

This is the issue I have. I don’t think I ever lost a set of wired headphones in my life, and I swear I lose a set of wireless buds once a year. Sometimes they turn up in a weird place months later. But that’s why I usually opt for cheaper ones, it doesn’t hurt as much when they disappear. However I recently got a free set of Google buds with a new phone. The quality and features are amazing, but it’s really only so long before I lose them. This is something I have come to accept.

qaz,

I’ve been using bluetooth earbuds for several years now. You can walk around freely when connected to your PC, the wires don’t get tangled and noise canceling is great. But one upside of wired earbuds is that you’re not exposed to bluetooth zero days such as the one that recently came to light.

rabbit_wren,

Nearly every day for me. I love having my headphones on while I walk to work or am on the bus. I had to buy a new phone about a month ago and I exclusively shopped phones that came with a headphone jack.

creed10,

literally every day while I work so I can listen to music

wazzupdog,

At least a few times a week, or when a new album releases when I’m not at home.

AgentGrimstone,

Often enough to want it. I use it all the time in waiting rooms.

RatzChatsubo,

Someone needs to invent a headphone cord that directly connects to the USB C port. Is that a thing?

MuffinMangler,

It is a thing. You can get a usb-c to audio jack adapter.

  • VerseAndVermin,

Everyone always recommends this one. I got this one. It seems to keep the capable volume a bit lower than usual. Clear audio though. Just a heads up to would be buyers.

    ElPussyKangaroo,

As replied under another comment :

I’ll be honest… I bought a Poco F4 because the value for money it offered was amazing. Plus, I could unlock the bootloader and shift to a custom ROM whenever I wanted (literally as soon as I could lol. Hate MiUI).

This phone doesn’t have a headphone jack, but I was willing to make the jump since my general use of headphones is not as much as earphones. My ears get sweaty or scratchy after more than an hour straight of earphones, and around the same for headphones.

As a result, my overall usage is limited. So, when I got my TWS (paid ₹2000 for an okay pair, no dual device pairing, okayish build quality for the case and an okayish connection. Sound was good tho.)

My situation meant I didn’t really use them as much, although they go for almost 4hrs straight. And if I put them in the case, they go for weeks without needing a charge (case has a built-in battery of 1200mAh). So, whenever I think I need the case to charge I just set it up overnight. The only sad part is it doesn’t have dual device pairing. I use my laptop and phone together and I’d kill for this feature, but my budget is thin atm.

I know it’s not everybody’s case, but this is my case. And while I miss the jack, I don’t notice the lack of it. Audio quality is good enough for me. The wires were honestly the worst part of my wired experience anyway.

    Crozekiel,

Absolutely use it at least weekly. My partner has Bluetooth wireless earbuds and they are always a problem - dropping connection, short and inconsistent battery life, dying at inopportune times, etc. They don’t seem to even notice these issues because they’ve used wireless for so long, but it always drove me nuts everytime I tried switching.

    MdRuckus,

I haven’t used wired headphones in about 8 years. Bluetooth all the way.

At this point wired headphones feel like ancient technology to me. Bluetooth never dies 💙🦷

  • Mo5560,

Have you seen anyone in a music recording studio or a stage wearing Bluetooth headphones?

My point is not that everybody needs headphones for studio sessions or gigs etc. My point is simply that Bluetooth is not just better as you seem to imply.

Different technologies have different usecases, wired headphones won’t die for a very long time, and there are good reasons for it.

We’re not talking about the studio environment babe. I won’t strangle myself with a 2 meter cable while taking a seat. Bluetooth is the future and pros far outweigh the cons. We’re at the point where Bluetooth 5.3 is indistinguishable from a good quality headset. On top of that Bluetooth is the backbone of every wireless device and we are moving towards wireless society if you like it or not.

    Mo5560, (edited )

Why do y’all have to write in such a condescending/rude way?

My point was Bluetooth is not better in every way and I stand by that (you seem to too).

Personally, I have 2 pairs of headphones 1 pair of in-ears and 1 pair of over-ears, I use my over-ears for everything except band practice and gigs (where I use in-ears). Buying more headphones just so I can use them with my phone seems ridiculous to me.

I am happy that you find joy in wireless headphones, and I’ll stop talking now in fear of summoning that Candybar Jerk again.

Has a “boomer” treated you wrong at some point your life or something? 😬

    Copernican,

The $15 USB adapters is kind of annoying, but I think I really only am really peeved about it is when I am flying and can’t charge my phone and listen to music at the same time. For me I think there are a few factors that have made my headphone jack less necessary.

    1. Covid and WFH. I used to listen to music on my commutes and in the office from my phone on wired cans. Now I WFH and have speakers or have headphones running from my PC’s DAC.
    2. Streaming Speakers/Receivers that are wifi enabled. I no longer have to worry about using AUX inputs on my speakers, since I have wifi enabled devices that allow me to “cast” music to any device in my home from my phone instead of plugging it in or using a weak bluetooth connection.
    3. Android Auto or other car/phone USB/bluetooth integrations. No longer need to use Aux in cables to a car to listen to music.
    NeroC_Bass,

I bought the USB c to 3.5mm adapter to keep using the headphones I bought back in 2008.

    Know_not_Scotty_does,

It is not my primary method of audio use, I use bluetooth earbuds/headphones in a workshop environment for that so I don’t get the cables caught on machinery or materials but I use it when traveling or listening to music at home because the sound quality is better and there is only one device to keep track of or charged. Its not an everyday thing but still a requirement for me.

    phx,

I do but it’s certain circumstances where it make sense (on aircraft or when I’ve got a good pair of wired earbuds/headphones on me). Sometimes I use Bluetooth, sometimes wired but I appreciate having a CHOICE!

    zergtoshi,

I use it quite frequently for both making calls and listening to music or videos.
