I do not think you’ll find anyone that thinks that criticizing pedophiles is a bad thing. I think a lot of people would say that you should probably do a lot more than just criticize them.
The only people protecting pedophiles are other pedophiles
In France, the left is in denial on pedophilia. People saw it last month, this month and each year.
France had and has many scandals on this topic and the left is actively protecting them. Matzneff. Miller and many others.
A huge issue in France is psychoanalysis. People should not underestimate the power of psychoanalysis in France. This pseudoscience is everywhere in the politico-cultural field. In this pseudoscience, pedophilia isn’t seen as bad. A well known French psychoanalysist, Françoise Dolto, said “In father-daughter incest, the daughter adores her father and is very happy to be able to taunt her mother!”. The left still see Dolto has a good person.
The left and the cultural microcosm will protect them as they have tides and that both are imprint of psychoanalysis.
This probably comes from the fact that we’re more interested in criminal rights regardless of what the charge is and they just see an isolated case being defended and go wild over it. They wanna have a label they can also on someone to disenfranchise them without anyone else considering the validity.
The right has been trying to smear the entire LGBT community as pedophiles for literal centuries, bro, but it’s been particularly popular in the last few years now that they’ve realized they can’t get people to hate them for being queer alone.
Sure, if you want to look at it with no context. For years though they’ve been getting called paedophiles and accused of grooming children while the progressive left has been defending them, so it stands to reason that’s what we’re dealing with here.
I haven’t seen any MAP tolerance, but I have noticed that every time AI CP comes up, there’s a top comment that’s like “Regulating AI will accomplish NOTHING except give MEGACORPS a MONOPOLY on this HOLY tech that will SAVE us all (by letting me jack off to piss-poor deepfakes of Taylor Swift). We just need to accept that some teens are gonna make AI CP of their classmates and there’s nothing we can do about it. After all, it’s no worse than trolling – and I assume that never hurt anyone, cuz I think that shit’s hilarious”.
I wouldn’t call that a left stance though. It’s a very neckbeard tech libertarian kind of “let everyone do whatever they want, because I have enough privilege that I’ll never be the one suffering the consequences”.
That’s because the right here doesn’t mean actual pedophiles. They mean like trans people, or drag queens. They’re the “real pedophiles” here. Not all of the GOP politicians or religious figures found literally having sex with minors.
I suppose the argument is they post this stuff anyway and it’s better to have it out in the open then all in a little bubble that they control on truth social.
It’s not like anyone’s going to look at this stuff and then everyone criticizing it and go “oh I guess the right have a point”, not unless they were already predisposed to think like that anyway.
