DragonTypeWyvern,

The economy is working perfectly fine for the people that own it.

DragonTypeWyvern,

Lol

Look, peasants, wages have gone up by slightly less than 1% for reasons having nothing to do with the government, be grateful!

DragonTypeWyvern,

I didn’t vote for him

DragonTypeWyvern,

No, I talked with the FSM, they said the one true king of England was Wade Boggs.

DragonTypeWyvern,

That’s why he’d be such a good king!

All the tourism benefits, none of the problems.

DragonTypeWyvern, (edited )

Industrial productivity comes at the cost of the environment. It’s just a fact that snark won’t change, or who owns the means of production.

Like, that’s just how mining works. You take stuff out of the ground and it doesn’t grow back, and, spoilers, mine tailings were some toxic shit even in antiquity.

Logging at least has the option of reforestation but that requires humans to stop building on the clear cut land.

Even industrial pollution isn’t a new concern. The scale might be, but traditional tanneries and smitheries would poison the rivers and land of cities.

DragonTypeWyvern,

You don’t tape it over the blister, you cut a hole for the blister

DragonTypeWyvern,

This is the first I’m hearing about double socking needing to be dress socks, are you sure that’s a thing?

DragonTypeWyvern,

Oh, suddenly self love is a problem?!?

DragonTypeWyvern,

Dawkins would have shitposted on Twitter with the best of them if he’d been born later

DragonTypeWyvern,

Is he really the best of them?

DragonTypeWyvern,

The funny thing about the Jedi is that talking things out first is supposed to be their job. The “Wars” part of Star Wars only happened because a thousand years of peace fell apart because Palpatine’s evil space magic was stronger than the Jedi’s or something, so they didn’t get to tell the Senate that political corruption was bad, actually.

Anyways, that’s why the new Star Wars series should be about the internal politics of the High Republic, the most interesting part of Star Wars.

DragonTypeWyvern,

There’s also a reason why the US Army had to be forced by Congress into buying more tanks instead of replacing the Abrams with IFVs. The next generation will be reintroducing the idea of light tanks regardless.

DragonTypeWyvern,

No, they’re not.

DragonTypeWyvern,

You ever hear the joke about an American tourist only drinking alcohol on a trip to Mexico, because you can’t trust the water, and then someone asking them where they got their ice cubes?

DragonTypeWyvern,

Well, the thing about your friend is that even if he were only drinking boiled well water or whatever, he’s still consuming plenty of the metaphorical ice cubes.

I’d say that’s the only real point the anti-flouridation crowd has, really. Even if they want to opt out, they can’t. Even if their local water utility stops flouridation, anything shipped in will still have it, be it bottled water, frozen meals, anything that uses tap water in production, really.

DragonTypeWyvern,

She’s a journalist, and they’re fascists.

DragonTypeWyvern,

They’re being vetted for those exact traits. That’s the point of brownshirts.

DragonTypeWyvern,

Not to mention a whole ocean of revisionism. The Ottoman, Abbasid, and Umayyad caliphates all had better relationships with their Jewish populations than their European peers. Not perfect, but not “constant threat of pogroms” bad.

DragonTypeWyvern,

That’s some of why East Tennessee and West Virginia sided with the Union in the Civil War, too.

It wasn’t uncommon at the time.

Russia threatens Britain with retaliation if involvement in Ukraine war deepens (www.pbs.org)

Russia on Monday threatened to strike British military facilities and said it would hold drills simulating the use of battlefield nuclear weapons amid sharply rising tensions over comments by senior Western officials about possibly deeper involvement in the war in Ukraine....

DragonTypeWyvern,

If you’re not fighting dirty you’re not fighting to win.

This just happens to be one of those times were we get to (help) fight fascists instead of people that want food and human rights
