One of the worst things since lockdown happened is that #UK couriers now think it’s acceptable to leave packages on a doorstep and consider that “delivered”.
I say “a doorstep” as my wife just had a notification to say a package has been delivered. It’s nowhere to be seen.
Unless you’ve handed it to me directly as I’ve opened the door, I do not consider it delivered!
Edit: I don’t blame the drivers themselves. It’s the companies who dictate how drivers are supposed to perform their duties.

I also don’t blame the drivers themselves. I said UK couriers meaning the companies. I know they put they dictate how the drivers make deliveries. I’ll update my post to clarify that.
@Sobtanian I don’t particularly care for what their T&Cs state when I don’t get a choice which courier I get delivering my package. My name is listed above the address so it’s poor service unless it’s delivered to me in person, in my opinion.
This never used to be a thing pre-lockdown. Not in my experience anyway. If there was nobody in, they’d deliver to a neighbour if I had one listed with them, and if not, they’d attempt redelivery the following day or I had to collect it from their depot.
