WARNING, SPOILERS AHEAD. I used the content warning and an obnoxious all-caps warning, you can’t complain about me spoiling things! I will also tag everything in the thread #Ahsoka, #spoilers, and #AhsokaSpoilers as much as I can.
MUTE THIS THREAD if you don’t want to see it, and I’d recommend you also mute those hashtags for good measure. You’re in control of your destiny spoiler-exposure, here. :)
I fanboyed pretty hard when #Ahsoka left the ship while in space—it’s something we’ve seen a few times in Clone Wars (& maybe Rebels?) but never in live action.
Someone in the #AhsokaWatchAlong asked why they’d shoot at her instead of the rest of the ship, and imho it’s easy: ego. Each pilot wanted to be the one to claim the kill of a Jedi. We even see this between Morgan Elsbeth and Shin, where Shin cockily tells Elsbeth she’ll get the kill.
I think over all this ep was the most FUN so far, which was nice. People pointed out in the #AhsokaWatchAlong that there were Grevious-esque ships providing a bit of a nod to prequel fans w/o dipping into fan service, Hera seemed more like herself (“animated,” I dare say!), and there was more smiling, less brooding.
My one criticism is that it felt SHORT like we just got started and then it was over, but that’s not always a bad thing.
Alright Star Wars peeps, I’m going to pin this thread of my non-spoiler-y Ahsoka thoughts. You can look here for my latest thoughts over the next seven weeks. :)
I’ll post a separate content-warned thread with spoilers.
And if you want to join me in watching it each week, check out my site! We synchronize our viewing and chat along on Discord.
Mmmm another good episode. And yet another, “I want more!” feeling at the end. It was good, though. A nice penultimate episode, and I literally have no idea what is going to happen next—but I want to know!
Star Wars nerds in US-adjacent timezones: I’m planning a weekly watch-along for Ahsoka! Like in the past, I’ll probably schedule it for 8:30 PM MDT due to my kids' bedtime, which I know is kinda late for folks farther east.
I’ll get a web page up soon w/more details, but if you’re interested, could you:
Okay here is the initial #AhsokaWatchAlong page on my website—I’ve added a brief “what you need to know” and a link to the Discord, but I’ll add a full schedule there soon as well!
I’ve added the first couple events to my #Ahsoka page, plus greatly expanded on the “Where Ahsoka Fits In” section: read a brief summary of everything you probably should know about the characters likely to show up in the series, plus what you can watch and read to dig into the story even more.
Whether or not you want to join the #AhsokaWatchAlong, I hope this serves as a useful resource!
Consequently, I’m gonna bump everything to TUESDAY nights instead of Wednesday, because I know I will not be able to wait to watch it for 24 hours. 😅
I’ll have to throw together a couple of graphics and update the dates on the Discord events, but the dates on the site are now updated: https://cassidyjames.com/ahsoka
