I decided to try the baja-style fish taco even after I realized that it's plant-based. I've tried some plant-based items, to varying degrees of satisfaction. Sadly, this was not one of my better experiences. You can sort of see that the texture vaguely looks like fish once you get past the breading. My issue was that it didn't taste seasoned at all. It was pretty bland. 1/3
It came with cabbage slaw, cilantro-lime crema and pico de gallo, and normally, I appreciate simple accompaniments because it lets the flavor of the fish shine through. With bland not-fish, the taco was pretty boring. Can't recommend this at all. 2/3
I tried to find out what the "fish" was made of, to no avail, because the information wasn't available at the booth. The person helping me was very nice, and she said she had been told it was Impossible fish. I don't blame her, but I doubt what they told her was true, as they would have advertised the branding as such, especially with the Impossible foods booth just across the way. 3/3
And it's interesting that they're offering two versions of the #SipAndSavor pass, one with four coupons and one with eight coupons. That will come in handy for folks who might not be able to use 8 coupons on their own.
