Chocolate-espresso loaf (chocolate-espresso cake filled with chocolate mousse, topped with dark chocolate ganache and chocolate and white chocolate curls) from the in . This was soooo good. I could have done without the white chocolate curls but they were easy enough to ignore. 1/2

I'd normally have coffee with a dessert like this, but since it was already coffee-based, I felt like actual coffee would interfere with the taste. A nice black tea would have been perfect. I opted for just water in the absence of tea. 2/2

Carbonara garlic mac and cheese with bacon. I usually like this a lot but it was somehow feeling a bit heavy for me yesterday, so I didn't have much of it. I did like it though.

Last day of for us yesterday. Pastrami fries (crinkle-cut fries with cheese sauce, pastrami, SJG sauce and pickles) from . Pretty good serving size. I liked the cheese sauce but the "SJG sauce" (as in SmokeJumpersGrill) was more like a Thousand Island dressing, and the sweetness didn't really fit in for me. 1/2

Yesterday, I also had the shrimp papas locas - cheddar-bacon potatoes with jalapeno cheese sauce and chipotle shrimp. I really enjoyed this dish, which had really nice flavor and heat.

Yesterday, I got to try the chicken lollipop, beer-brined with poblano mashed potatoes, caramelized fennel and fried carrots. Absolutely loved the flavoring on the chicken.

I'm not into the "old fashioned" alcohol drink, but the "frozen old fashioned" intrigued me enough to try it - non-alcoholic bourbon-flavored ice cream, bitters crema, orange zest glaze and cherry spheres. I don't know what bourbon-flavor is, and it was ok as just a regular ice cream but not something I'd get again.

I decided to try the baja-style fish taco even after I realized that it's plant-based. I've tried some plant-based items, to varying degrees of satisfaction. Sadly, this was not one of my better experiences. You can sort of see that the texture vaguely looks like fish once you get past the breading. My issue was that it didn't taste seasoned at all. It was pretty bland. 1/3

It came with cabbage slaw, cilantro-lime crema and pico de gallo, and normally, I appreciate simple accompaniments because it lets the flavor of the fish shine through. With bland not-fish, the taco was pretty boring. Can't recommend this at all. 2/3

The return of the perennial favorite grilled top sirloin with roasted garlic-gruyere smashed potatoes and black garlic chimichurri. As good as always.

Next up was the BBQ beef brisket slider with smoked white cheddar and dill pickles. I would have liked more of the pickles but otherwise, tasty.

First up was the cheese pizza-flavored wings. I wouldn't describe the flavor as cheese pizza, but I did like the seasoning. I tasted the ranch dip, and it was good. I don't usually dip my wings but I tried a little. The dip just completely masks the flavor of the wings. Nope.

These are the main items that caught my attention for coming to from March 1 to April 22. Lots of new tasty items to try.

And it's interesting that they're offering two versions of the pass, one with four coupons and one with eight coupons. That will come in handy for folks who might not be able to use 8 coupons on their own.

So with regard to the offer for at this year, I thought it was interesting that they went digital with the "tabs". It's a good environmental move, doing away with all the plastic tabs that got thrown away, but it also enabled them to process everything in one transaction, presumably using the Disney Dining Plan system. 1/3

Previously, if you bought an item using a Sip and Savor tab, you had to do a separate transaction if you wanted to buy something, like water, that doesn't utilize a tab. In this instance, I had one Sip and Savor item and also the burrito, and they could process everything together, and your receipt shows you your remaining balance of "tabs". 2/3

The pass has a barcode on the back that they scan after you order, and there's also a code (like the security code on your credit card) that you enter into the pin pad to validate use of the pass. Makes for a very smooth process. I expect they'll be using this for all future festivals where is offered. 3/3

Dinner last night at included me succumbing to trying the char siu-style ribs from for with . It was really good, and the meat was very tender, and the sauce wasn't too sweet, though I love regular char siu sauce. I also appreciated that they chose meaty cuts of rib. 1/2

I liked the scallions but I'm honestly baffled by the choice to include roasted peanuts on top. The ribs don't need a crunch element, and all the peanuts do is make this an unnecessarily inedible dish for anyone with a peanut allergy. 2/2

The garlic noodles always sound better than they end up being. The flavor is pretty good, but the noodles are pretty dry.

Also tried the steamed pork and vegetable dumplings. I really enjoyed those, nice flavor, and I particularly liked the accompanying black garlic sauce.

Tried the fried lemongrass chicken dumplings today. It was pan-fried, not deep-fried like it looked in the picture, so I was happy about that. But the ends were hard because when pan-fried is overdone and sits, that's what happens. I did think the lemongrass in the filling was very nice, and the sauce was ok, a little sweeter than I prefer, but I liked the little bit of sour in it.

Having lunch from the carts. I hadn't had the braised pork belly adobo with garlic rice yet this year, and the husband hadn't had the barbacoa tamal de res. The southern mac and cheese is a favorite of us both. Merry Christmas! Or alternatively, Happy Monday!

Yesterday, I also tried the holiday turkey empanada from - fried empanada filled with turkey, stuffing and gravy with cranberry dipping sauce. Loved the combination of turkey and stuffing, and that cranberry sauce was so good.
