I've observed that #FFmpeg-based video players (like Celluloid) are able to smoothly decode 4K #H265 / #HEVC video on old CPU (with no hardware decoding acceleration), whereas #GStreamer-based video players (like Clapper, Totem, etc.) seem unable to play those (you get one frame every few seconds).
Surprisingly, I did not find much issues tagged H.265 in GSt's GitLab instance. Known perf issue, or would it be worth filing one? Is the GStreamer stack something that can be profiled with Sysprof?
