I love history. I would love to be able to see these things with my own eyes. Hence, #LifeStages was born.
#JulesNVera wasn't originally meant to be about time travel, but (yes!) this hashtag inspired me. I had an old story from my teens, which I never finished, and I used that one as backstory. Also, I could incorporate little scenes from my historical stories.
And now, there's #TimeCurves and waits for me to edit it 😁
Thanks, @juliebihn !
This is it, my last post about a novella featuring a nameless heroine and Alexander the Great (deceased), exploring the world and their own fates together.
#wordweavers Oct 31: How is the environment cared for in your story?
It's time travel in our real world. So, badly. Especially since the story takes place before the 21st century, when only a minority of people acknowledged that we might have a teeny-weeny problem there.
Tomorrow is end of October and the last day of me featuring #LifeStages here. I have a cool idea for a new project w/ time travel that I'd like to explore.
Today's also Mom's birthday, who passed almost 6 years ago (incredible). For her, a snippet out of her favorite story:
They wouldn't understand it. For Alexander, the whole concept is too far out. And the nameless MC has seen too many real horrors to dress up and play at that.
#wordweavers Oct 28. Is money an issue or a perk for your MC?
It's not. The nameless MC carries a bag slung around wherever she goes, and it always stays with her. There's money in it, in whatever currency she needs, and it never runs out.
She doesn't spend much in the first place, but when Alexander sets up their life in ancient Rome, he makes clever use of that pouch.
#wordweavers Oct 26 Is your MC more of a people person, an animal person, or a plant person?
The nameless MC cares for living things, mostly people, animals second (plants are not really her thing). She doesn't like to watch them die, always alerts her eyes before the end. There was only one exception to that rule.
She's kind but also distant. She knows she won't be staying.

Is your MC privileged in any way in their world?
The nameless MC is as in she isn't really part of this world. If things get rough, she can be gone in a second. She can also go invisible and then doesn’t need much food or sleep. She is a watcher, always there.
But she's also not privileged as she can't really play a role and influence things, which makes for a lonely existence.
"Please," he rasps out. "Help me."
I don't know how to react. I have never experienced anything like this before, and so I wait in silence. He lets go of my arm, careful, as if he's afraid I'll disappear. The fear is not entirely unjustified, but I decide to stay. Never before has anyone been able to see me when I didn't want them to.
"Help me," he repeats. "Please. I don't… I don't understand what happened. What happened to me?"
#TimeTravelAuthors Oct 23 Is your MC more like you, or more different? If different, why?
We share the love for peace and the dislike of violence, but opposed to her, I can't run when I'm fed up with this time. Thus, I'm way more likely to defend myself (and resort to any kind of violence) than she is.
That's actually very near the end, but the only time I use scared/scary:
"I know he's standing in the corner behind me, and he smiles encouragingly at me. Now both bronze combs are in his bag, ready to wait for me.
What will become of him?
What will become of me?
It's so unfamiliar not to know. It's scary, and yes – so exciting.
I take the last step. I close my eyes."
#wordweavers Oct 20: Are your MCs good at fixing mechanical things or house maintenance?
The nameless MC isn't helpless, bust mostly, she doesn't bother with this kind of thing. Also, when she's visible, she mostly plays some kind of role and that doesn't include this.
It is impossible for the time travelers to change anything that's in the past of the nameless MC, i.e. that has already happened in her personal timeline.

What's the biggest inspiration for your writing?
Dreams and other stories - may they be on paper, on screen, or in real life.
The inspiration for #ChildrenOfAngels came when I watched a ballet and saw the dancer dancing his own death.
Inspiration for #OfElvesAndWolves and #TheSpiritChapters came from family drama. Inspiration for #LifeStages and #ChasingWildDreams was my own dreams.
Alexander answers this:
"I had reasons, always reasons. Only with Cleitus I had none. With Cleitus… Gods, with Cleitus I was simply too drunk to know what I was doing."
[...]
"Cleitus was a friend," he continues barely audibly. "Not my best, certainly, but a friend. He was wrong, but I was even more wrong. You only do something like that to a friend when you're no longer a civilized person."
The nameless MC and her companion don't need to eat. Did they have a favorite candy before they started to travel? Surely! Do I know it?
In Alexander's case - no, I don't.
In the case of the nameless MC - it's yours.
