This is Gu, who is from a shelter in New Mexico and is around 5 years old. He is a dog therapist, and has a caseload of 10ish dogs who come over to hang out because he calms them down. He has logged thousands of miles on trails, and has played long games of tag with ravens, squirrels, and coyotes. As a dog who grew up in the desert, he is absolutely obsessed with running water. #petintelligence#dogsofmastodon#dogstodon
Here’s Bobdog, aka Dogbert. He’s a former Hungarian street dog. He’s a bit smelly, tends to bark at things like empty plastic bags or trees where he once saw a squirrel two years ago, and every so often he vanishes into the next county in pursuit of deer, but he’s very fluffy and soft, incredibly friendly and affectionate, can detect cheese at 500 paces, and will do anything for pizza. #PetIntelligence#DogsOfMastodon
This is Lunar. She’s a blue healer x Koolie. She tricks her brother Sprocket into getting off her favourite spot on the couch by playing with his tennis ball then quickly stealing his spot on the couch when he jumps down to play with her. #PetIntelligence
@GossiTheDog this was Boston. Boston was a Bull Terrier. He was a very good boi. People crossed the road because they thought he was a pit bull. Boston loved people more than other dogs. The world was a better place when Boston was in it and I miss him every day, 6 years almost since he said goodbye to us #PetIntelligence
This was Loki. He was a big boy, even by Maine Coon standards. Roughly 13kgs of muscle and fur.
People were scared of him due to his huge size, and lynx-tip ears, fearing him being an exotic animal.
But Loki was a huge softy, fond people, and loved nothing more than laying on his back, legs akimbo, getting a belly rub from anyone willing to give one.
