Woken by an SVT incident at 02:25. Heart rate jumped to 128 bpm. I did the MVM and it stopped it on first go. Rate dropped to normal. Fitful sleep for the rest of the night 🥱
The Bisoprolol tablets I got a few weeks ago are a different brand. I don’t think they are as good as previous prescriptions. Or they are a dodgy batch.
I have to return the heart monitor I’ve been wearing all week to the hospital tomorrow morning. I won’t miss wearing it.
No SVT symptoms in the last week, apart from two times today when it briefly felt like an SVT style heart racing incident was trying to start. Neither did.
The last time it happened was 22nd March when I mucked about with the times I took the Bisoprolol beta blocker. That was grim. That last standard incident was 18th January.
Apple Watch ECG I did just now doesn’t show any signs of Atrial Fibrillation for the first time since 01:08 on Friday morning.
I’m here to tell you that wasn’t a fun 36 hours.
Also, I highly recommend Apple Watch Ultra. Mine is a v1 of the Ultra. The latest v2 is even better. Some functionality may not be available in the USA due to patent lawsuits.
I think that messing with the schedule I was taking Bisoprolol and/or buying those strong coffee cup filters might have been a mistake. Resting heart rate chart for the last 7 days attached. Can you spot the day I made the changes? Of course it may be a coincidence my heart rate changed so much. But it’s a strong coincidence if it is one.
I’m back to my old Bisoprolol schedule. Hopefully the rate will go back down to around 50.
I did jinx it. Had an SVT incident at 01:00 as I was attempting to fall asleep. A MVM reduced rate from 123 to 80 but heartbeat felt erratic afterwards. Flutter and missing beats. Apple Watch ECG reported Atrial Fibrillation. Which has never happened before over the 2+ years I’ve been getting SVT attacks. ECG just now also reporting atrial fibrillation.
Bought some M&S cup coffee filters to see if they can give me a caffeine boost that counteracts the lethargy caused by bisoprolol tablets. While I transition to taking the bisoprolol in the evening. And after wards if required.
Jaggies started in the right field of my vision. Plus headache. It’ll pass. Usually pretty quickly. Brains are weird. And biology is messy.
This is a perfect opportunity to plug the latest @philipcball book. I’m almost finished reading it. It’s superb. Audiobook is fab if you don’t want to read 400 pages on paper or ebook. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/123012858
Working today with a single 4K screen plus iPad Pro 11 below it as a spillover screen when needed. Which means my neck is not continually moving a small amount from centred to the right and back. Which wasn’t doing my neck any favours.
Another SVT heart-racing incident. It started at 12:55 when I was sitting in my recliner chair. Heart rate jumped to 156 bpm (as reported by Apple Watch).
My posture was bad as I was reading my iPhone screen close to my face with my glasses off. I’m convinced that a hunched posture triggers many of the incidents.
A MVM stopped it at 13:30. Rate dropped to 80 bpm.
I was woken up by an SVT heart racing incident at 01:20 this morning. Rate was 133 bpm as recorded by Apple Watch. I did the MVM* at 01:25 and this stopped it. Rate dropped to 78 bpm.
Data in Apple Health shows the high rate started about 00:50. See pic.
